Eureka AirSpeed

Like most newer vacuums, the Eureka AirSpeed offers high octane suction. While most other vacuums tend to lose this benefit over time, the AirSpeed keeps going strong. We've had ours for a couple years now and it works as if it was brand new. If you need to get deep-down into the carpet, this could be the best choice for you.

Equipped with a powerful 12 amp motor, it is capable of providing strong suction and cleaning out the dust or dirt out of your floor. But then, the power isn't the only benefit attached to the Eureka AirSpeed. It provides a bag-less system that is great for households where an individual deals with allergies. Whenever the contraption is full, simply unhook it from the vacuum and empty it outside. This easily eliminates dust particles getting airborne in the home.

Unfortunately, the person emptying out the container might have to deal with a little cloud of dust if the particles aren't disposed of properly. We've all experienced this at least once. While this is true, we consider it to be a minor issue that occurs with every bag-less vacuum out there.

If you need something for your carpet then the Eureka AirSpeed is a great choice, but not so much for hard floors. Well, this is what we thought in the beginning, but it's only because we didn't realize there was a bare floor setting. Once we made the change it really worked well, but only with light particles.

It offers a 27-foot power cord, deluxe stretch hoses that can reach up to ten feet, and even a scuff-resistant furniture guard. The latter is great if you have the kids do the vacuuming for you. We also have an easier time hitting all the crevices and corners with the Eureka AirSpeed vacuum.

Probably one of the biggest benefits is the ability to take it outside, plug it in, and use the hose and crevice tool to vacuum out our vehicles. We spend about $5 a week taking it to the local car wash for vacuuming, so we are saving about $240 a year. This is almost triple the actual cost of the Eureka AirSpeed, so it definitely has value.

Our biggest complaint is the overall weight. It sits around 19lbs., so lugging it up and down the stairs isn't easy for the youngsters. It usually requires my husband or me to do it for them, and I even struggle with it from time to time.

The overall time it takes to vacuum our entire house with the Eureka AirSpeed is about 15 minutes. This is about half the time it took before, but a lot of it has to do with the 14" width it offers.

Purchasing a new vacuum is something that takes a lot research. There are so many different options out there; it's really hard to make the right choice. We recommend finding 3 to 5 of them you like and compare each one. If one of your choices happens to be the Eureka AirSpeed, it will be hard to find something better.
